The founder
Built on the inside of deals
Marijn Compagner founded MavenCrest with a single conviction: that the best M&A advice comes from people who have done the work themselves — not just advised on it from the outside. With over a decade of experience across Europe and Asia, he has been a principal actor in some of the most demanding M&A environments in the mid-market.
At Normec Group, Marijn was responsible for more than 20 acquisitions across Western Europe as part of an aggressive buy-and-build strategy that grew EBITDA from €20 million to over €100 million. He subsequently joined IMCD, where he led the successful integration of bolt-on acquisitions across South-East Asia. Earlier in his career, he built his technical foundation at Deloitte's M&A practice, focused on transaction advisory and financial due diligence.
Across these roles, Marijn has developed deep expertise in financial due diligence, post-merger integration, and buy-and-build execution — covering sectors including TICC, specialty chemicals, logistics, industrials, software/SaaS, and professional services.
